About Gender Turn PH

The project is our effort to highlight the diversity of gender-related philosophical discourses in the Philippines that have started a long time ago.

Filipino philosophers are riding the wave of the ‘gender turn’ and the challenge is to fill in the gaps by documenting and consolidating works more thoroughly and accurately, affirming the contributions of the trailblazers, being inclusive, not exclusive, and uniting efforts in the mainstreaming and promotion of these othered philosophical discourses.

This would not be possible without our sponsors.

Welcome

Welcome to the website of the The ‘Gender Turn’ in Philosophical Discourses in the Philippines Project. This project was made possible through financial and intellectual support from the Hypatia Diversity Grant, University Research Coordination Office-De La Salle University, and the Philosophical Association of the Philippines.

The website was conceptualized as a repository for gender research in philosophy and other disciplines, and where gender-related organizations and groups can advertise their cause/s. I hope that the project will have a substantial impact on driving gender-related research and causes in the Philippines.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

Trace the historical development and determine the themes of gender-related and feminist philosophical discourses in the Philippines since the 1930s through reviews of existing gender-related bibliographies by Filipino philosophers.

Supplement existing resources through other digital repositories and institutional and organizational resources and links Philippine women and gender centres to the repository and systematizes bibliographies for philosophers’ easier access.

Our Sponsors

These organizations support the project in driving the new wave
of gender-related research in philosophy.
